Sophie graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude with a BA from Columbia University before completing her DNP there and becoming a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She also holds a PhD in Biomedical Ethics from the University of Zürich.

Sophie has spent years working with individuals to help them bring greater awareness to their experiences. She has clinical training in dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness techniques, and focusing. As a Feldenkrais practitioner, a type of movement therapist, she has a strong background in somatic work. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society and was awarded a Fulbright research grant in 2019. Her postdoctoral research focuses on ethical questions related to autonomy, critical illness, and end-of-life.
